Mimi Warnick

Director & Artist

People can be born in different places at different times, live very different lives, but when they intersect on feelings, for me, that sweet spot, is what I want to live in, and explore with people.

Mimi (she/her/hers), was raised in the Philadelphia area, learned a whole lot in Boston, and today is a New York City based director, who can also be found in Philly and Wilmington, DE. Mimi holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Directing from Emerson College.

Mimi has an extensive background developing and directing Musical Theatre, New Work, Plays, and Theatre for Young Audiences. She is drawn to directing stories that close the gap between humans. Statistically, people are 99% are alike, but we are obsessed with defining how and why the 1% separates us. Mimi believes art is a question that challenges the norm, and live storytelling is an answer, or a gateway to another world that can inspire us to make our reality more open and inclusive.

In addition to directing, Mimi is the Associate Artistic Director of Delaware Theatre Company. She is also the Director of New Work Development at AMT Theater, and a Co-Founder of In Confidence, an unlikely theater company. Mimi is also currently developing and presenting her new musical, The Chequerboard Watch.

Besides being a leader of the good art, she is a life long student of Nancy Meyers, daughter of disco, disciple of Maggie Rogers, golf enthusiast, and sea shanty expert. She is peaking when on aux when the average age of the room is 59, in Sea Isle City, NJ, or listening to her Celtic folk daylist. Sail On & Go Birds
